FAQs
What is the different between behaviour therapy and talk therapy (CBT)?
Behaviour therapy and talk therapy are distinct approaches to psychological treatment. Behaviour therapy focuses on modifying specific behaviours through techniques such as antecedent and reinforcement strategies. It aims to change maladaptive behaviours by identifying triggers and implementing strategies to encourage positive change, often using an individual’s current strengths. In contrast, talk therapy, commonly known as psychotherapy, emphasizes verbal communication to explore thoughts, feelings, and emotions. While both methods can be effective, they cater to different aspects of mental health, with behaviour therapy concentrating on observable actions and talk therapy addressing deeper psychological insights.
